PrimeStore® Molecular Transport Medium (PS-MTM) is a polypropylene tube developed by Longhorn Vaccines and Diagnostics LLC. This tube contains a proprietary solution for the inactivation of infectious samples and the stabilization of nucleic acids at ambient temperatures. Multiple sample types from blood, saliva and urine to tissue and vector-borne sample types, such as mosquitos and ticks, can be collected with the PrimeStore®MTM. The components within the tube inactivate microbes, lyse cells, disrupt/lyse lipid membranes, and denature proteins and enzymes. The stablisation of DNA has been shown up to 30 days and RNA up to 23-28 days at ambient temperature. PrimeStore®MTM has shown compatibility with most RNA/DNA isolation kits for downstream molecular testing.
