The RedSafe Nucleic Staining Solution exhibits two fluorescence excitation maxima at 309 nm and 419 nm when bound to nucleic acids and is visible at a wavelängth of 514 nm. RedSafe is as sensitiv as EtBr, but causes much fewer mutations in the Ames Test as EtBr.
