Heme Malignancy

The molecular analysis of heme malignancies now includes NGS as complementary technology to the traditional methods such as FISH and qPCR. NGS hematological disorder assays developed and deployed to profile patients for these malignancies provide a highly multiplexed analysis of genomic aberrations that underpin many of these diseases. Assay development, validation and clinical deployment will often require the use of clinical patient samples to aid these efforts. However, due to the vast diversity of genetic alterations in blood cancers, it can be a monumental and expensive task to source sufficient quantities of remnant patient specimens and cell lines bearing clinically relevant variants across these different diseases.
